• feeling anxious makes you human • feeling depressed makes you human • seeking professional help is wonderful and not something to be ashamed of • taking meds is admirable and not something to be ashamed of • you are loved

Happily, society has become more accepting of mental health and the issues that people suffer from with this debilitating condition, thankfully it's easier than ever to be open about being a sufferer without the fear of being ridiculed.

I'm winning my fight one day at a time xxx

Sadly alot of this is down to ignorance n stigma and cut in nhs funding which the government play a part in all this and too many dont get the support they need. And sadly alot lose their life through suicide because the cry for help is ignored when they reach out.I hope with awareness and the it been talked about more in the media social media television this in years to come the loss of life is less x

I'm sorry to say this (and this post will probably get taken down pretty quickly) but I know of at least a couple of SS members that could certainly do with some education when it comes to understanding and dealing with a person coping with a mental health condition

Having said that the de-stigmatisation (no, I don't know if that's a word either:)), acceptance and understanding of those suffering from any type of mental illness is something I believe the whole of society should be grateful for.

The fact that suicide is the biggest killer of men under 40 is truly shocking.
With the unseen pressure and stress of modern living for young people only likely to increase I don't see that statistic being lowered any time soon unless some serious re-structuring of society takes place.
And do you see that happening?:(

Hello :)
Well, it was only that I kind of mentioned the fact that I considered the actions of a couple of members (whom I would never name by the way) would benefit by having their knowledge of mental health conditions expanded.

p.s. I heard a C.A.L.M. ( CALM - Campaign Against Living Miserably ) statistic today and it seems that suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 (not 40 as I'd previously stated) and o put that into terrifying perspective 12 yes TWELVE men a DAY take their own lives. To put it another way that's an entire football team and their manager. That is truly tragic.77
