Over the weekend, we've had hundreds of emails as per, but several asking the same question;
is Social Swinging a legit site or scam.

I am inclined to think some of this is spam, but some may well be legitimate questions.
So, as a responsible site administrator, I feel it is my duty to respond and put some myths to bed.
Please allow me...

1, No. We're not a scam site.
2, No, we don't have any working girls on the site.
3, No, we don't have bots running the place.
4, No, we're not in it for the money - (will come back to this).
5, No, we don't pay people to be active.
6, No we don't have paid online actresses to keep momentum.

There's probably some more, but these are what I can address immediately.
If you have any concerns, please contact us directly and we will explain more.
Thank you. x

Okay so, we started this site on our own. We had so-called friend support, but they turned their backs on us when we actually did do something about it.
About the racism, the sexism, the abuse, the bullying.. We acted.
We did this on our own backs with friends' support.

We've never asked for anything from anyone apart from please share the love.
Anyway, fast forward 5 years... Times have changed, technology has changed.
We've adapted, we overcame. Photos were no longer 2mb, but now 20Mb, 40Mb.. servers had to change. Allowances had to. Tech changed.
We adapted.. We never asked for anything.

When the site first went live, we had PayPal; unbeknown to me, adult lifestyle was not allowed : yet you could buy porn through PP.
anyway, after about 3 years of spending out and some help from some of family & best friends, we raised £2k to get a bank in place. Yep, 3 years and we finally raised 2 grand to get a bank.
Fast forward to last October and our bank wanted another grand (£1,000) to renew our visa handling fees and I refused.
This meant we were left with no alternative but handle the bank, the fees, everything on our own.

The site costs have always expanded, as you'd expect. But now, the site costs about £300 PCM to run, we have paid members of staff that no one sees or knows about. . We get the odd upgrade especially as right now we give it away.

So what do we do? What should we do?
Lose more money than sense, which we have done.
Pretend to be a non-existent money making scheme of sorts...
Fight for the swinging community - which we do under our personal profile,
Or just sell out as the domain gets a million hits per month... +

I pay membership for 1 site, not sure what the pay stucture is here but there I pay £20 for 3 months, I have paid the £56 they want for a year before as well.
I used to pay for 2 other sites at the same time as they were good, but 1 went downhill after being sold and the other didn't tackle trolls in forums so it became dull as you couldn't use it as it had been intended for.
But I think people should actively support decent, which from being here so far, this definitely seems to be, I definitely haven't been inundated with spam bots and those asking for "tributes". Otherwise these sites disappear and then your only left with those that allow spam and bots.

*decent sites
There aren’t many out there. We joined a popular site a few years back and within half an hour we were automatically locked until we paid £15 to just do the basics, there were more extras on top. Then you have the biggest site of all that claim to be free when it isn’t, claims to be safe and secure yet you don’t have to register to see profiles and personal info. Everything that is out there is why we built this, all we want to do is make enough to cover the running costs but that’s becoming difficult. This site was always about the community and all we’ve done is provide a good platform.

The issue will be that people don't know that they have it so good here, until it's gone, then they will realise that those other sites are not what they are up to be. Yeah I have created some profiles but as soon as they ask for money to do basic stuff, I delete them.

This is the situation we are in. All we ever ask is for support, don’t drag members away and use the site. This site shouldn’t need us and it should be running with us just watching on. It’s down to people at the end of the day, we can moderate fakes and idiots but we can’t control content and retention. We personally fork out for a fantastic platform, not many sites have the features we have here and most probably don’t use them to their advantage.

Up until October, we only charged a fee of £4 pcm for unlimited storage.

The important thing to recognise is that the site is not a scam site, not made up of bots and not out to scam people.
The main site I pay to limits members to 500 pictures, so if needs be you could charge and limit the number of pictures few are gunna upload 500 or even 200 pictures.

Yes there will be a lot sitting watching the forums and not getting involved, they would also more likey be the 1st to say they don't seem tonget anything from the site. To get something you need to interact, just like ik real life, nothing comes to you unless you do something about it.

You got it, we see it all the time. This site is inclusive of all, from Genuine swingers that are here to meet, wanna be’s, to Uber swingers as I call them, you know the type, thing they are the beautiful people and will only interact with one or two others as no one else is good enough for them, yet we sit here and welcome everyone.
We deal with horrendous accounts that I couldn’t repeat here, some where police have been involved but members don’t see the work behind the scenes and what staff here put up with. There will always be good and bad to everything but the good out ways every time. I love what I do but I only ask, support the site and treat people how you like to be treated. There is a huge amount of ignorance in this scene, always have been, I would like to think we started something that was the opposite, it says it all in the name.
With all sites like this it’s the same for all, if you are new. It’s a struggle to fit in with an established community.

Why don't you start putting ads on the website... Sell site space etc....

BTW - Are you running your servers in a cloud platform AWS / Azure / Google?

If you need any DBA help please let me know.

I had always insisted in not adding ads but have thought about it.
No we’re using a dedicated SSD server using NginX and CentOS / centminmod. It’s extremely fast.
It irks me when people question whether the site is legit, or a scam site. Or out to make a fortune.
It’s not right. How many people have we seen join here and update a status questioning if the site is real and genuine people on it?
Annoying to say the least.

Anyway thank you P. You know I appreciate the offer. May take you up one day. Thank you.

You could run ads, that only people who don't contribute see, that way those who support the site still have the same experience as now, and those that don't see the ads.

It’s definitely something I’ve toyed with and trialled several times but only visible to me. We can’t use Google Ads as we’re not family friendly of course. So the only real ads we could use are either LoveHoney, Bondara or more porn type ones.
They cheapen the look of the site IMHO which is why I’m still hesitant. But we get massive traffic monthly so it would be big hits.

Well, yes there will be other brands too, but part of intro message could say if you want to remove ads, please help support the site, so that we can keep it going and free of bots and spam.
It's a massive amount of traffic, but also a massive cost to run, eventually something will have to give. And those who use the site or join and see after a while, as some won't pay straight away will see that it's different and better than it's competitors, and if they want to support and remove ads they can do so. What about the clubs/events? Townhouse or Bizzare would they advertise?
There's also limiting small things such as allowing you to see thumb nail pics, but not full size pics, that's an option or some have initial photos, ie none naked visible, upto 8, and then have others hidden the naked/action 1s hidden unless you pay, and if you pay you can see all, so there are somethings you could introduce that doesn't involve ads.

With our upgrades what we allowed (until October) was everything free on the site aside from media. If you wanted to see photos and videos, you needed to be a site supporter. That also gives an unlimited storage quota.
Even as non-supporters, the storage allowance was massive to be fair.
So in effect, we didn’t really need ads though I tested several types.
But retention is also a significant issue because - out of all the fakes, wasters, dreamers and fantasists, you eventually see how few are actually really Swinging.
Townhouse used to be here, before they were bullied and forced to leave by the other site.
When they found out they were on here and advertising us, they removed their listings and reviews. It’s caused pandemonium for TH.

Sponsorship from love honey perhaps or anne summers or might ease the pain of adverts
have a whatever it is link x x
I would be put off by adverts all over this screen.
If 300 pounds is the actual cost of running this site?
If you were to have £5 a month but take 3 months money in advance?
15 quid x 10 people is half your cost fees already x another 10 and you have your 300 quid ?
