All us women go through this at some time in there life and unfortunately it appears that mine has started earlier than expected, there must be some ladies here that are in the same boat or even gone through it. Early last year I started to get extremely hot randomly throughout the day even when outside was freezing cold I would have to put on the fan to cool off or at least make things more comfortable. Then my periods became less frequent and now I haven't had one of them for nearly 8 months. I really should think about going to the GP and getting it sorted out as I know a blood test would show hormonal changes but I am not good at going doctors so I keep leaving it. I am at a stage where the hot flushes have calmed down a little again but sometimes it gets so bad. So if any of you lovely ladies here are willing to share any tips or advice it would be great or even just have a moan about it. Gents Have you had a partner or have a partner going through this and what are your thoughts.

I started the menopause two years ago, confirmed by my Gp, I do think I'm lucky and have had a pretty easy time so far (touch wood) Nights are the worse with sweats, Admin uses me as a radiator even in winter while I'm poring. Periods are the worst for me and I suffer terrible, two to three days of agony. I look forward to them finishing.
I refuse to take any HRT as I am a believer in letting the body do what it has to do naturally and I hope with speaking with others it ends quicker with not using anything, same as using tampons, I don't as it isn't natural.
You have said you haven't had this confirmed and your periods have stopped, you are young and there are many other conditions that could be a cause with similar symptoms, I would go and have it checked asap to rule out anything nasty, better to be safe than sorry hun.

Neil uses me as a radiator too it used to be the other way around . yes you are right hun I do need to get it checked out to rule out anything nasty as you never know, do you. Have chatted to my mum and Neils mum about it and they both say although it is early it does look likely it is the menopause but like you said I should go and get it checked out, I know Neil would be happier if I did too. If it does turn out to be the menopause I do think I would take the option of HRT just to try and alleviate the symptoms a bit, the hot flush bit to me is so awful I hate it.

I would go as there are many conditions with the same symptoms, you are young for HRT and like you the flushes are incredible but check out herbal remedies and diet, they can help, I wouldn't jump to HRT just yet and get plenty of advice first xx

It's worth checking all options and I do know of so many problems with HRT especially if you are younger and when you stop the HRT you can go through the menopause again  vitamin E, D and B and omega 3 essential fatty acids help and most can be found in fish and veggies or take the supplements. Also check out milk thistle, google will tell you more xx

Never gave them vitamins a thought so that is worth looking into, having second thoughts about HRT again now I certainly don't want this all again  right off to sort out the vitamins for a start as we don't really get much in the line of veg really and fish only fish we have is the one covered in breadcrumbs  right back to google :p

I take low dose antidepressants. Not because I'm depressed but they have a side effect of reducing hot flushes. There is also some blood pressure medication that does the same but it didn't suit me. My reason for not going down the HRT route is because I had a breast cancer scare 18 months ago. The antidepressants work well for me and it keeps the menopause process going at a normal rate so when I come off them it won't start again.

The wife had been having the hot flushes last year so the she went to the doctor who advised to go off the pill for 3 months so a blood test could be taken. During those 3 months the periods stopped and a afterwards a blood test was taken that showed that she was indeed at the end...she jok3d about her name now being "baroness".

One extremely interesting side effect is that she has been waning sex almost every single morning for the last 6 months

My last period was in December, but have horrific period pains lasting longer than they used too! Ive not noticed any other symptoms related to the menopause, thought I would leave it at least 6 months before I see my GP and have my bloods done. I will be quite happy if this is all I’m getting :)

Think I read the other day about antidepressants reducing symptoms of hot flushes not heard about the blood pressure one though so that is interesting. I am going to go with @Pearls advice and get the vitamins and omega 3 and sort my diet out first and try that for 3 months or so and see where I go from there and I also need to make an appointment with my GP to get some blood tests done. Sorry to hear you had a breast cancer scare, I hope all is well now hun.
