Why do I need to opt in to continue receiving emails and newsletters from Social Swinging?
We want to make sure that you still want to hear from us. That's why we're asking you to confirm what emails you'd like to receive from us, in line with upcoming changes to the law. To make it easier for you to update and manage your preferences we've made changes to the Email Preferences area within your Social Swinging account.
What are marketing messages?
Marketing messages are when we tell you about Social Swinging's related products, offers, events and members, which we think may be of interest to you.
If I opt in for email marketing, will you share my contact details with other organisations?
No, we never share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. All messages are sent by us, however we may tell you about third party special offers in some of these messages. Such as LoveHoney, Bondara or events from any Swinging Clubs and events organised by Us.
If I opt in, can I opt out again at a later date?
Yes, you are always in control over your preferences and you can unsubscribe from your email preferences whenever you like. Simply visit the Email Preferences on your account page to amend your email preferences accordingly.
What happens if I don't amend my account within the next few weeks?
You will still continue to receive emails from us in relation to any messages, notifications, threads or media you have subscribed to, additionally we will assume you are still happy to continue receiving email marketing from us.
What is changing in the law?
The EU have introduced a new law, which is designed to give you more control over how companies collect and use your personal data. It’s called General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and comes into effect on 25 May 2018. GDPR applies to all organisations located within the EU. As Social Swinging is within the UK, serves members all over the world including Europe and The United Kingdom, we're governed by EU regulations. We will soon be therefore contacting everyone currently receiving messages from Social Swinging to ensure we have your up to date data preferences..The new law will continue to apply after the UK leaves the European Union.
Once I’ve amended my preferences accordingly, where can I check my details and what I’ve subscribed to?
You can still check and update your personal details, preferred methods of contact and contact preferences for your Social Swinging account in the same place. As long as you’re signed in you can access them through the ‘Your Account’ link visible in the navigation bar at the top & right hand corner of every page on our Site.
If I don’t opt in will it affect my Social Swinging membership or supporter activity?
No, if you don’t opt in, all that will happen is that you’ll no longer receive marketing emails related to being a member or a supporter.
