OMG that’s awful, hubby went through a similar thing with his ex and her new partner, it took a while to realise who it was, he didn’t involve the police but that is an option these days.

If you know the person you can get a non molestation order against them. I have one against my ex husband who grabbed me round the throat in January. They will be instantly arrested and your number on red alert with the police. No threats toward you are allowed whatsoever. If you need any other advice message me xx
