Everyone has to start somewhere hun, it’s no different to anyone else, activity is key and try to attend a social event. @Tiger has details on the first Saturday socials, he’s a single guy himself so can give you some pointers in the right direction. Welcome to the site and I hope you enjoy your journey. 
As Pearls has said, socials can be a good way to meet other likeminded people without any play pressure. Clubs can also be good with the socialising element forming a good portion of the evening. I'm not aware of any clubs actually in Northampton but there are several within driving distance. I'm part of the staff team at The Vanilla Alternative near Bedford where single guys can attend on a Friday night. You would need to register, for free, via the club's website and then telephone the club in the week before the Friday you want to attend, to get on the guestlist as we only allow 10 single guys.

I’ll echo what others have said, take it one day at a time! It’s not a race there’s no finish line! adopt the infinite mind set, be in the lifestyle for the right reasons, be respectful of others, make friends & over the course of your journey the playtime will surely follow!
