I'm confused. Is this like a thing now? Or have we suddenly remembered 'cos there was a recent film?

Sure, the D-Day landings looked impressive but just remember this simple fact: 95% of all European casualties in WWII happened on the Eastern Front.

So, Alamain, Italy, D-Day, Battle of Britain, Dambusters and the Great Escape - the lot - only account for 5% of the fighting.

The was was fought and lost on the Eastern Front, and our cherished freedoms and democracy rest on Russian corpses.

Maybe we could have a thing for Victory Day (May 9th) too?

Food for thought.
