Empty Nest Syndrome

So, totally off topic from swinging, just wanted to know from fellow parents, have you ever had empty nest syndrome when the kids fly the nest?
I only have the one child and he's only living 4 miles away, but if feels as though he's in Australia. Always busy with work and uni and spends all his spare time with my brother (he's only 5 years older than my son).
I don't feel depressed or low, just a sinking feeling and missing all the stuff we used to do.

Well we've got two who've now flown the nest, more recently the 2nd eldest. Another gone to uni and we felt that, definitely. Still have the younger two now at home, but next year another will have flown too. I think it's great when they spread their wings but it definitely does leave a gap as you spend all your life bringing them up!
Mind you, that said, the peace is nice. x

The peace is great and I love watching porn full volume and using my toys without worrying if they're too loud.

I just feel like his life has flown by and that I've missed his childhood, even though I tried to do so many things with him.

Now I just spend so much time with my nephew and spoil him rotten.

Four of mine had flown the nest and being as I still had children at home I've never felt the empty nest syndrome (and one has recently returned home complete with girlfriend and daughter!!) Peace - what's that??

We have 2 boys both flown the nest and live abroad and i must say we love it as we can do as we like. Just tied down with the dog now as we dont have anyone to look after him for us as all our other family are miles away.
