Hello all,
Well there seems to be a nicely written post elsewhere on the net about this, but the facts and content are clearly written by someone who doesn't have an iota of knowledge about who these people are and what they do.
So without going into too many details, the Fake Hunters on Twitter, seek out fakes and work hard to try and remove them.
Usually they are successful too.
Added to this the people behind the accounts have chosen to carry out and introduce a way of verifying your account on Twitter, therefore making sure you are the account holder and not a troll/bot.
Now we cannot condemn nor condone that process, however, we are completely behind them for weeding out fakes/trolls/bully - Twitter accounts.
We would remind people to consider at all times about being safe with regards to sharing personal information with anyone on the Internet.
Also it is written elsewhere that someone had a ban from here for not supporting this ideology? (the fake hunters)
We can categorically tell you now, this is and was not the case. The account in question was banned for trolling, flaming and causing unrest.
The person behind the account is masking the real reason for the ban, and trying to cause further unrest for people who are trying to eradicate Twitter of nasty little accounts - coincidentally, similar to this one in question.
So all in all, these guys track down and find fakes, they offer a validation process for Twitter users - a process which we don't know fully what they do or what information they request from people, (it's their private business not ours at the end of the day) but by all accounts it is nothing of any personal information.
Added to that, we must stress that this is in no way affiliated with us at Social Swinging and is a completely external account, system and totally separate party from us.
In other words and in lamens terms - nothing to do with us.
Although we do support people like these chaps, who are trying hard to eradicate Twitter of fakes and trolls/bullies. (see account mentioned above)
There's too many on there, significantly trolls too, and it's always good seeing someone trying to help get involved by warning others of such people.
Take care peeps, watch out for the trolls = they usually have high bushy hair, doll like faces, and spew drivel with a need to purposely attack people, usually with no understanding of what it is they really do represent or mean - in other words are of little significance to normal, every day people.
Watch out for fakes too - there's too many of those around. Usually though you can spot the fakes.
Use a common sense approach and always think twice before accepting a follow, or sending that Tweet.
Best wishes.
