Happy New Year..
Well what a year 2017 has been for Social Swinging! The introduction of PV has to be one of the biggest milestones we've achieved as mentioned by @Steed99 yesterday.
There's no mistaking that it hit us and hit us hard, but we could never go back now as we'd be openly welcoming and allowing fake accounts. Just simply could never go back on it.
The vote, which went on for over six months I think (at least it felt it..) was a clear and resounding 'yes' to enforcing it and at one stage was even taken the mickey out of and likened to a Brexit as we were faltering on whether to actually do it, or not. But we did and by doing so rooted out an extraordinary amount of fake accounts, something we'd never expected nor witnessed before.
Thank you to all those who took time to vote and stood by us when we went with it and enforced it.
We've had some very well attended, site organised parties and socials throughout 2017. Events in Birmingham, Manchester and of course the Birthday Bash and FoF. It's been great meeting those who attended and still having your support on here.
With that, alas some members come to stay and others come and go. Usually because of real life issues.. but sometimes due to other reasons. Other reasons being the forefront of my mind this year and how we allowed certain things to happen, which won't be allowed to be repeated.
Some of you have gone through some very difficult times this year and we've been there to support you via PM's, chat or even phone calls! Most of all, the community has been there to support you. It's as much as a testament to you as it is us. Without you, this wouldn't be what it is.
It's fair to say that the site's growth after rolling out PV is continuing to go from strength to strength - with the numbers game very much at the top of the list however. We will continue to advertise and push as hard as we do already, as ever and always though, your help and word of mouth benefits everyone else too.
So onwards and upwards as we head towards 2018...
