I had an interesting discussion about this with my parents of how the dating scene have changed since our grandparents and of how they met on the dance floor then how the parents met on work mostly and now our generation of how everything is online and where it is all about swiping right, have you noticed this change too?

Totally. There’s no dating as such anymore. Not much wining and dining as there used to be. Not everything with modern technology is cool. It’s made the song and dance more clinical.

You are right there, would you also say that the youngsters today are forgetting vital interpersonal skills as everything is online? ?
Absolutely. There’s specific skills that are now lost I think. The natural art of flirting for example, in a physical sense. It can take weeks to build up that tension. The lusting. Now it’s more aesthetically orientated based on images with filters.
The art of conversation and communication is dwindling. I mean over text speak of course. But learn, shift adapt I guess. The younger generation don’t know life without the Internet, apps, smart phones and tech. So it’s normal.
Just a shame to see a loss of this skill set, the natural flow of conversation and flirting in a physical sense.

It’s very sad, like said romance has gone.
Forgetting my parents and how they started courting to when I was younger, the last dance of the evening, sharing a bag of chips with a stranger.
Our eldest has just met a girl from a dating site, they had a date on zoom!
Not the same. I wouldn’t want to be a youngster starting out today.

I find the best way to meet still is on a night out. Dating websites aren't great because you have women who get loads of attention who think they're special but in reality they're not that great and on a night out theyd be lucky to get more than 2 lads try it on with them.

I think the only way you can tell if you're truly attracted to someone is by meeting them in the flesh

I completely agree, a way someone acts online as opposed to in the flesh, can often be two totally different things.
Agreed entirely both.

You are right there that those flirting skills are not there as it was, in that sense this generation is missing out on it ?

Yes it is very sad indeed that those social skills have gone and been replaced with tecknology, maybe it could return one day of how it was ?
