We came across this site purely by accident and decided to jump in, because, why the fuck not, right?
But not everyone is as eager to through themselves at the mercy of a new, unknown and widely misrepresented/misunderstood side of social media.
Clearly we don't just tell everyone we know about this facet of life. Those with the knowledge clearly have the trust and usually a history of sorts (even if not physical).
With this in mind, and the next social just around the corner...
What are your thoughts on bringing a personal friend to one of the social gatherings?

This scene has always been strict and with good reason, security for most is paramount and usually events are based on this code including clubs. People are just not comfortable with vanilla folk and non swingers being around. This is based purely on experience and with SS official events it would be based on members only. Hope this helps both.

I should add though this is a social so it would be purely down to people that are attending.

Personally I’m ok with it, as you stated you only tell people you trust that you’re in the lifestyle so as long as they are friends of yours & you can vouch for them! Then I have no issues with it!

At the first social I knew nobody & now I consider the people I’ve met my friends ? we were all strangers at one point & if you can’t trust your friends! Who can you trust?

I think it depends on how private you want to be with your lifestyle choice? It's nothing abybody should ashamed or embarrassed,
? Live your own life????

Ok, not quite the start I'd hoped for. Thanks for the feedback. The reason for asking is that two very dear friends of mine (in no way" vanilla", but scared of bridging new ground without the guiding hand of a friend) was considering tagging along to see what were so excited about. Potential future site members

Why dont you ask them to look at this site and then they could get a bit of an idea of the people on here. As ive not been to a social i cant say how it would be interpreted bringing strangers to the party (yes i know were all strangers till we meet) but it would be nice if they joined here so peeps can get an idea of who they are. And looking at the other side of the coin is if you went into a club everybodys a stranger till you get to know them.. But iam 100% sure they will be made welcome whatever happens.

I, too, think that swingers aren't comfortable with no swingers being around and I believe this is the rule, but in this case I got they might be future swingers who need to be introduced and involved into the scene to understand better it and then understand if they like it, so it may be a good occasion to lead them into the swinging lifestyle in a soft way (It's just a social where there will be nice and kind peeps).

Ok, advice is... come along but keep a very open mind. No assumptions because swinging and club's are never quite what you expect. One q to you GeoffRy, are this friends you've swung with or not? As I always think once you've even seen close friends have sex the friendship is never the same.

Yes. The lady who inspired this thread is the mythical unicorn mentioned in our ultimate "dream-come-true" fantasy experience (mentioned in previous threads, probably annoyingly often) involving a hot tub in the middle of winter. My (Ry) GF before we were married, missed by both of us.
She was recently told of our involvement with the site, our fun as a result of it, and is curious.
