Who's been to a masked ball or party? How did it go? Did the masks make the ambience sexier or more exciting? Did they stay on all night?!

I ask because I was at one last Saturday. It was a club party night. I bought my own mask but the organisers actually provided masks for everyone anyway! I wore the one from the club, which was more comfortable than mine. It did leave some blue patches and glitter on my face! The atmosphere was certainly very sexy, though this may just have been down to the great efforts and preparations of the owners, organisers and staff rather than simply wearing masks.

I think the fact that I knew or recognised a lot of people there from previous occasions diminished the element of mystery for me. I think it would be in a way more interesting with strangers whose faces I had never seen. Also, the size and type of the mask obviously has an impact. As most people were wearing small eye mask types, it made it easier to recognise people (less mysterious). This is not at all to diminish how fun the evening was. People started removing the masks around halfway through the night as the club warmed up ; )

It's an event I would definitely try again, but with probably a few tweaks to the format. Well done and thanks to all the staff, it was definitely a memorable night (y)

Only been to one masquerade party, a few years back; glad I went, but really wasn’t my thing. Everyone else seemed into it, though, so suspect it was just ‘horses for courses’, and just wasn’t for me.

Ditto on liking to go to one at some point! I’ve not been to one before.

A masquerade mask doesn’t really afford you much anonymity but then I suppose a brown paper bag with eye holes isn’t particularly sexy... :D

I love it, going to a ball, not seeing who is under the mask for the first time and having an instant excitement of what would happen next.. On my fantasy list :sneaky:
