So now that PV is optional do you as members interact with none PV members,
Ive noticed a few pv members snub or ignore the none PV,ed members on site ,which i find rather a smack in the face to what this site is all about, fun , friendly members and a welcoming community, a change to some less friendly sites
Come on folks it costs nothing to say hello back , you never know that person you acknoledge may turn into a wow meet down the line ,
Seems some have taken PV as a safe secure fact that ,that other member is who they say they are , well nothing is fool proof folks

Would rather be a part of the none pv croud than let the none pv croud see what we look like. If folks dont wanna talk thats a loss for them.
But that part is easy to do members set their media to who they follow , but it doesnt mean none pv members just joined have to be ignored by others ,god if id just joined and got the cold shoulder approach it would make me think

I’ll interact on the forums with anyone who’s there and makes an interesting, funny, or relatable post. (If I don’t respond on certain threads it’s because the subject matter doesn’t interest me or I can’t add anything, not because of who’s taken part in the thread.)

And that includes saying ‘hi’ in the ‘welcome’ threads if I see them. Other interaction? I tend not to send PMs to people until I’ve exchanged messages in the forum, and even then it’s rare.

I can think of two people (other than Admin) still on the site I’ve exchanged PMs with, and none since I’ve returned. But that works both ways :)

I'm happy to interact with none pv members, I just keep it in mind that as no proof has been given yet I am taking it on trust they are who they say.

Thats the isdue really hun PV is not a full proof way to say the person/s behind that profile is real anyway

Agreed. Fortunately for us @Admin and @Pearls have met us so know we're real, but that means nothing to those that haven't. For me pv just adds a layer of trust, but none pv does not mean untrustworthy. After all had plenty of fun and made friends elsewhere and had zero proof before.

I think we put too much reliance on PV. It seemed a good idea at the time but the effect on the site wasn't as expected but you live and learn. The reality is a green badge makes no difference to someones personality. I will chat to anyone, especially new members as we want them to feel welcome and not ignored simply because they aren't PV'd. I'll make my own mind up about them, badge or not. Ignoring those with no badge is, well, :censored:

I'm Happy to interact with everyone, there's no need to be rude ,

Always remember PVG doesn't ensure you will get on with folk or you are attracted to them

Look, PV is not the silver bullet people expected it to be. It is, without doubt an additional security measure.
However, it's not the be all and end all.
PV should not be a filter to whether you talk to someone or not. (n) :(
Does it matter whether they are or not?
We don't meet single gents but still chat to single gents.
We welcome all and anyone, whether single, couple, gent, lady, straight, bi, gay.. PV, not PV.
Don't allow the PV green badge become a comfort blanket. x

Yes, it matters.

It’s not determinative, it’s not conclusive at all, but yes, it does matter.

To me, to say it matters to the point that you’d ignore non-PV’d members is as odd as saying it doesn’t matter at all. But I can only speak for me, not for anyone else.

And (heh, I should have a sig saying this) I appreciate that my reasons for being here, and expectations, are very, very much not those shared by others.

Absolutely it does matter. 100%. Even more so if meeting, in fact an absolute. But what I meant was it shouldn’t be a factor to prevent people from welcoming members to the site, because they are not photo verified as of yet.
Now if it was personal long drawn chats then yes different and not something I’d personally engage in - but merely welcoming someone to the site, saying hello to them, PV shouldn’t play a factor.

That would make a big sig though :D
