The good thing with fakers and dreamers, even though we learnt this lesson the hard way - with mandatory PV, it showed just how many fakes were here.
We’ve always said: we’d rather have fewer numbers but genuine people, than higher numbers of fakes.
But am still keen on fresh ideas and suggestions on clawing members back and keeping them here as best we can.
Are you all getting your newsletters for example?
I can’t think of many more things we can introduce as we have so many things already on here. X

All good things come in small packages... Well in most respects ? I have always maintained as you know, give me five people in a thread and you got a cracking laugh over fifty who sit back and do nothing. ??

When I joined it was mandatory to photo verify and have three pics as well as your profile picture! And I have to say it was the deciding factor for me to choose this site over any others

Yes indeed. We made it mandatory that all those steps were taken plus adding information etc. Those seemed to have been our “glory days” when we were struggling to keep up. Kind of blew it then with enforced PV - even though we were absolutely behind that.
Add in some toxic members etc and the rest is history. But you’ve always been an advocate of that in fairness. ??

Vanessa joined SS first before the mandatory picture thing and they really felt like the best days, when it was shiny and new to us. Then after the rules were introduced it just felt safer to chat and make friends online that you might never meet but hopefully do. I have no idea what to do to encourage people to interact on the forums now because the situation we are all in makes everyone a bit more down and careful generally in life. I want this wonderful site to go on forever but I don't really have any suggestions as to how we do any more than being nice to people to try to get them talking.

I'll keep being silly and Tigs will keep doing his party trick ?

Honestly, until we are all out and about, free to visit clubs, parties and have meets, I dont think there is much you can do. Other sites are the same. I've noticed that not everyone one sites like this is in it for the "social/friendship" element, so naturally when you cant meet, the footfall on here will be lower.
Give it a few weeks (if easing continues), and you might be complaining about how its "too busy" on here lol!

I think some form of regulation on pics could be a good thing, like a couples profile having at least one pic of the two of them together, and not just a holiday pic, something more "swinger-ish", and less "graphic" close-ups. I was against mandatory PV, thinking that might put people off.
On profiles, I'd like to see maybe sections that have to be filled in, so it gives a more "in-depth" write-up on who they are, and what they are into, maybe not a mandatory word count, but some guidance on minimum length perhaps.

Hi Mart,

This is already in place. ??

Well there’s the options for tastes, likes etc etc when you create the account which are mandatory, plus then on top of that there’s the ‘about’ field which is where people can add information.
We did make that prominent with a notice pop up about filling it in. But we then removed it as it was draconian really.

I don’t know how this all fits in though with trying to increase memberships and retention?

Just "spitballing" really, we would love this site to take off and be the biggest out there, but frankly, I dont really have a decent ideas as to how to do it. We love the social side of it, the effort that is put in by some members to organise those is fantastic, and I'm hoping we get to many more in the future. I definitely think holding them at swingers clubs is a good thing, however I can also see the benefit in holding them in a more "vanilla" setting too. The quiz nights are a great idea. I like the chatroom, but I've tried and failed to get things going in there on a few occasions lol.

I have spoken to friends who are on the "other" site, and joined here too, about why they arent active on here, and I get the same sort of reply every time.
"There's not many people in our area on there".
Which is true, but then this is a new"ish" site, as word spreads, more will join.
Its caught between a rock and a hard place...you need more members, but people wont join, or be active, until there are more members.

This is one of the biggest things and one I’ve often pointed out.
If members join but leave because there’s not enough members, ergo , there will never be enough.
Does my head in tbh. Frankly.
Yeah can’t understand the chatrooms either. Mind you we do a quiz every Sunday like before, to try and keep people interested. But even that’s taken a nose dive lately.

RE the socials: they’re mixed between clubs and vanilla clubs so it’s always a mix of everything for everyone really.
The pandemic has been a real kick in the balls for all of us really. Events, parties and sites overall. It’s hammered us, can tell you that much. But we will get through it. ??
