Eyup all you wine drinkers, we need your help!

So basically I don't get it. Certain wines accompany meals. Folk say ooooo summer fruits, hints of dark cherry, let it breath, full bodied

No comprende.

I have tried to like wine, kaz likes rose and sometimes I find the sweet ones ok.
I so want to like a red wine but they all just taste so bitter and vinegary. Yuk!!!

Where are we going wrong? Are we buying the wrong kind, there's so many? Do you posh winies have a recommendation for a good wine beginners can try. Should we just stick to lager ?

Im not a big wine drinker (others may disagree with this:rofl:), but if you have a
Co- op store anywhere near you, £4.95 for a bottle of Chilean red (they also do a white but not sure what it tastes like).
It has everything you could ask for in a red wine. I swear by it. Think i need to get my coat on and go invest in one now:whistle:x

Go wine tasting! We went on a 'Three Wine Men' wine tasting day, and learnt loads about what we do, and don't like. (Turns out we just really don't like red wine, unless it's one of the ones you can chill)

Three Wine Men - Oz Clarke, Tim Atkin MW and Olly Smith

Never in a million years would I go with him to that pmsl. I know what's he like. He'd be scratching his head and screwing up his face like a proper knuckle dragger.
I'll suggest he go with his mates.
Thanks the suggestion I'm sure he'll do something like this.

We drink quite a lot of wine and I know what I like and what I don't. Red wines - I love Shiraz which has quite a strong blackberry taste but I know it's not everybody's cuppa. Cotes Du Rhone or Cote Du Rhone Villages are both good ones too. White I like a Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc but my absolute favourite is Macon Village.

None of these are sweet be warned. However if you want to try quality wine at reasonable prices then check out Aldi or see what the supermarkets have on offer.

I like red, I really like Malbec. Try getting a bottle from Argentinian the Mendoza providence. If you are a meat eater it is lovely with a stake.x

I'm not a wine drinker and I know it's not the rant thread but ffs I bought a bottle of real ale the other day and the label said it tasted of hops with a backgound of summer fruits. Contents, water, hops, yeast but no fruit so how the feck can it taste of the em eh. Best be of before I say more :D
