Parties? Drinking and eating excessively? Sleeping on the sofa or armchair on Christmas afternoon? The morning with the kiddies, opening their presents? :santa::pressie:

We of course know it's a swinging site... but it's also a site with real people and real lives, and you know.. it's not all about posts related to swinging!

So..... the festivities are slowly creeping in @ ours now we've pretty much done our shopping. Stack loads of work on, but that can wait for a bit..
For us it's the excitement in the air, the parties we know are coming (we always did throw a good 'un) the décor and just quality family time. It's also a time, especially this year, to reminisce and think about some things.
But overall, we love the excitement and the relaxed, fun and bloody good knees up that Christmas brings.
You? x

Ooh, I like loads of things about chrimbo; the family bit, the party bit, the crappy music, the giving and receiving, the food and drink and that idea, however nebulous it may be, that a large amount of the world believes in peace and goodwill.

Christmas is all about family time. Getting together. Eating, drinking and all the merriment that goes with it x

Seeing Santa.
Yes honestly.
Not in a shopping centre though.
Every year I try and find the young uns a unique Santa experience. We have been on the Polar Express in our PJ's, we have explored Ingleborough Caves to find Santa in his 'Grotto' at the end of the tour, we have seen Santa underground in a coal mine 'The National Coal Mining Museum'.
This year I am re-visiting Sundown Adventure Land (I took the teenagers when they were little). It's a theme park specifically for under 10's. They have lots of little houses the right size for kiddies with different themes e.g one is Snow Whites house, one is Cinderallas etc. There is a few little rollercoasters. The Castle made of Sweets and the Sandy Cowboy town both look fantastic when lit up at night. And then there's the Winter Wonderland ride. You are greeted by elves once the carriage has gone through the Winter Wonderland and they lead you to Santa himself.

It's open all day and you arrive when you please. We will get there at 14:00 and our Santa tickets are for 18:30. I have done this deliberately cos it all looks more magical in the evening.

You know..... people do this, well have a slice of our pie and then try and be as cheerful as we are.
So to all you humbugs, be grateful. Consider yourselves lucky for what you have.

Having family round, first year for the new granddaughter ,the fun of sitting round the table pulling crackers then with silly hats on flaking out in front of the telly ,then really looking forward to boxing day ,watching nutters run headfirst into the sea for the charity dip then in the afternoon the veterans lunch ,seeing them all smiling and chatty and just enjoying themselves xx
