Honestly normally we don't bother with Valentine's Day. This year her indoors has decided to buy me a card and a gift so I have felt obliged to do the same. This doesn't mean I'm not romantic. Gosh I'm always letting Kaz:-
take my boots off
rub my feet
run me a bath
give me a blowie
cook my tea
But in all honesty I do little romantic gestures pretty often, flowers, chocs, arrange a babysitter so I can surprise her with an evening out, breakfast in bed, running her a bath with candles and wine.
I mean FFS I've even watched every season of Desperate Housewives with her, if that's not love I don't know what is
I like to do things a little different, do the unexpected. So today instead of £25 for roses (which incidently they looked half dead), I bought Kaz a Memory Box and inside it I put in a photo of the first time we went out together.

We're doing our usual... except we're not 
We always have a meal together - normally cooked by me, but our cooker is out of commission - so it's microwave meals this year. We always make each other a card (Ha! Feck you Card Factory!) but Lis didn't have time due to work, so I hid the one I'd already made didn't make one either. However, we shall enjoy a film, drink bucks fizz and cuddle up together.
I'm not even going to watch the football! Romantic, huh?

I, like most on here it seems, have always enjoyed showing my loved one how much she meant to me on a daily basis but that never stopped me going a lit bit over the top on Valentine's day (as I would on birthdays, Christmas etc). Yes, I know it's commercial nonsense but it just gave me another reason to shower affection on to the person I loved.
Now I'm single I don't give a toss.

Last year Mr N took me to Amsterdam as a Valentines gift.
I thought that was a really special gift, somewhere I'd never been and we got to make memories together.
We rarely get to spend the actual day together as he works away, but I got a message from him when I woke up this morning and we've spoken lots during the day.
It dosn't necessarily have to be about elaborate gifts. For me, at the moment especially, it's about knowing they are thinking about you. That you are loved and on their minds during their day. It's just nice to know you are a special part of their lives every day, not just on Valentines Day.
I love you with all my heart and all that I am xxx
