We not sure if to put this in main thread forums for discussion @Admin

U.K. industry lawyer Myles Jackman, known as the “obscenity” attorney in the country where he practices, called the consultation effort “a watershed moment in U.K. ‘obscenity’ law.”

“The consultation on the Obscene Publication Prosecution Guidance may return a liberal result that effectively decriminalizes content depicting consensual sexual activities,” Jackman told XBIZ today.

“This would be an enormous victory for free speech for performers and consumers of adult content in the U.K., with an inevitable benefit to the economy, as well as enshrining consent culture in U.K. law.”

About time these Draconian laws were looked at, not just for the sake of the BDSM community but for anyone that enjoys adult entertainment.

I'm not sure tbh - I know it affects the BDSM scene in a big way, which is why I've left it here - for now ;)

He and other community friends have said they win this they will not go on to swinging swingfields event? etc and will not end as case law on the wall or something x

Interesting news, but I’ll wait to see what leaks from the consultation before believing it’s anything other than a formality, where nothing changes.

Swinging will be next along with choice of people wishing to like attend an event like Swingfields if people dont speak up!

Oh, I don’t doubt the law needs changing. I’ve just seen too many consultations where the purpose was to kick the subject into the long grass with no change resulting to believe that setting one up means change will follow. (Same reasons politicians used to set up Royal Commissions.)

I must admit, I'm also a bit sceptical - lowering taxes, raising wages, consultations on things that people have been arguing for years...... think there might be an election on the horizon?

Well I followed the link, read the questions, re-read the questions and still didn't understand what the questions were .
Are these questions written in such a way to deter the average person from giving an opinion?

Let's face it there are many politicians that have broken these obscenity laws so they should consider how they vote real carefully.

Took my time but its finally been sent off with criticisms of the questions and the guidance offered to quote "
The question and guidance given in the consultation is confusing and not aimed at the layman without a background in legal speak, confusing and obfuscated."
