Drugs are prevalent in the lifestyle/scene.
Coke is now bigger than ever.
We've been seeing "420 friendly"* for a long time on profiles.
Are we now accepting that drugs are a massive part of this lifestyle and now more accepting of it? Of it or are we still at an age (rightly or wrongly) where drugs should play a no-no in our sex lives?
Pass the douchey ... :D x

Never seen any reason to need or want to take drugs full stop, would much prefer to remember everything x

Used to smoke dope at college, and occasionally afterwards. Hadn’t for years, then was at a party a couple of years ago… and discovered that I’m way too old to enjoy being stoned now.

But I’ve no problem with other people… I’m less tolerant of coke or hallucigens.

I’ve only been at two ‘events’ in the scene where people did drugs; very responsibly, no ‘hard drugs’ involved.

I have done my time in the drugs scene, far too much to mention and can't imagine it would enhance any sex life I have now.

I only recently found out what “420 friendly” stood for, I thought it was some sort of fetish thing! :)
It doesn’t interest us and we wouldn’t want to be part of anything that involved it.

..... drugs are a massive part of this lifestyle ...

You say that, but we're pretty active and oddly enough we don't come across drug use at all, and I mean NONE.
Its not our thing, but we're pretty observant, not at all naive, and expected it to be happening around us, but it really isn't. I don't know if its geography, local demographic, age range (though we've paramours from 20s to 60s!) or what.

Yes but what you will never know is the amount of people who have smoked joints, snorted a few lines or dropped pills before any action.
I won't mention what club, but I was well aware that the management had a constant issue of coke being taken in the loos. It is more prevalent than what people assume I think.
It's good you've not encountered any mind, but it can be safe to assume that some of those who you have met, had taken something either that evening or at some point for swinging parties.
The amount of people we know who take something when they meet, is staggering.
Personally I am not bothered by that in any way shape or form. If that's what they wish to do then so be it. :)

I think I'll leave this discussion with others, and enjoy looking at everyone's views as it's far too controversial for me

The reason being that I have friends that use drugs occasionally (a pill at a rave etc) and I have friends that use alcohol.
And here's why I won't get involved;
I have seen far worse life destruction and problems with relationships caused by alcohol then drug use.
I have seen terribly sad problems caused by alcohol that I personally have not seen with drug use and the problems caused by alcohol abuse are far more widespread than with those of drug abuse and yet people getting "out of their head" on booze or even, if you want to be even more picky, having their senses impaired by alcohol (which is, after all, the point of drinking it) is socially acceptable.

I've seen people say they wouldn't use drugs at a lifestyle event as they want to be "alert" and remember everything but those same people will find no problem in having a "few" glasses of wine at the same event to "get them in the mood" or "boost their confidence". The reasons and effects are virtually identical.

*** Just for full clarity: I have absolutely 100% tolerance towards people doing whatever they like (usual caveat of doing ho harm to others) so no criticism whatsoever is meant towards anyone that drinks, uses drugs or fucks sheep (providing the sheep gives consent of course )

And this is me not getting involved in the conversation :palm:
I refer to my post on the "Art of Conversation" thread

You don’t see stoners fight.
In fairness, I've seen some heavy skunk-users get very violent and, of course, we get the word 'assassin' from the Hashishim, a band of merciless killers who used smoke hashish before a fight.

But, I know what you mean (y)

I think it's fair to say that we're '420 friendly' but, insofar as the, ahem, 'scene' is concerned, I've not witnessed much drug use at clubs or parties. Maybe more so at a private meet with trusted friends.

Seen plenty of waaaaaayyyyy too drunk people, though.

And then of course there are prescribed drugs. OK, we call them medicines, but some can be incredibly strong, and though prescribed for the right reasons, they can have similar side-effects to non-prescription drugs.

I don’t make a thing of it, but I have a couple of bones dying in my foot. I’ve been prescribed very strong painkillers for several years (and at some point, yes, I’ll need a genuinely horrific op on my foot to rebuild it; trust me, you don’t want to know what they’ll have to do. Mind you, I’ve asked for wolverine claws, but they won’t do it, dammit.)

Point is, I’ve been on strong opiates for years. Early on, I was prescribed tramadol. It worked but fuck me, it was like constantly being high on dope… I chose to dispense with them fairly early but yeah, had I not, I could quite easily have been mistaken for being a stoner by everyone new I met.

(As it is, I’ve been on cocodamol for several years, and they do the job. And yes, of course there’s a wonderful tale about them… of course there is, I’m a writer... but which I’ll only tell if anyone really wants me to. I bore you enough already with tales…)

So have I but overall it’s drink not a smoke that’s involved in mass violence.
I need poking with encouragemento_Ox
Ooooerr missus ;) xx

Fact is, as with most pastimes - drugs are involved in swinging.
It’s definitely a high percentage.
Pardon the pun.
With regards to the club scenario I mentioned above, please trust me when I say that I know the facts and know 100%.
