So another post aimed at the guys mainly, seeing as its us that generally send first....

do you get a little downhearted when you see your message has been read, but no reply, or even worse... deleted.

you spend time composing said message, plenty of info and also thoughtful to the people your sending to, and then nothing.... not even a thanks but no thanks.

so do you feel like it’s been a waste of time? Or do you think nothing of it and carry on regardless?

I rarely send unsolicited messages these days, but although there was always a momentary ‘oh’ when I saw a message had been deleted without acknowledgement, it was never more than that.

In this scene, if women had to reply to every unsolicited message they received, they’d spend hours, every bloody day, just saying ‘thanks but no thanks’.

So no, once I realised that, didn’t really bother me in the least.

how about if it was a message to a friend that you haven’t spoken to in a while?

I’d say it’s all about the context & you’re own mind set!

If you’ve been having banter on the forums with them & it progresses into a PM, then it’s ignored it can be a little disheartening, but as @fincon said you have to understand the context in which your sending the message & gauge your reaction accordingly!

On here if I do message and get no reply that’s generally because whoever hasn’t stayed , I do generally get a reply even if it’s a pass the time of day and don’t continue on ...the other place “you know the one” deleting messages with out a reply or reading on the basis of who I am was the norm and I know people get loads but I just think deleting that way is just rude .... the reason I don’t use it anymore...
Move on try again is always the order of the day especially for us single blokes who do get the short end of the stick in this lifestyle and unfortunately we all get tarred with the same brush ..
As mercenary as it sounds just move on to the next one and don’t look back they might be the one that fulfils all your swinging aspirations...

To be brutally honest, the same applies/applied.

Again, with hundreds of messages received, every likelihood that they didn’t even spot it was from you/me, and just did a mass-delete.

But I’ve always - in and out of the lifestyle - operated on the assumption that if we haven’t been in touch for ages, there’s probably a reason; neither of us cared enough to stay in regular touch.

Occasionally, of course, it does happen. I mentioned here a couple of weeks ago that, out of the blue, I received a message from an old friend in the scene. Lovely to hear from her. But that was her contacting me. I don’t get many messages; they tend to be a delightful surprise when I get one out of the blue. That doesn’t apply with women in the lifestyle.
