??? I can message but not chat. Or does it comment when you are sending a message?
Why would you automatically assume that someone involved in a conversation (messages) is the same as chat?
I mean, you can also send PMs via the chat system, but as has been from day one, when you send PM's or are reading PM's - you will be seen as last shown as engaged in conversation.

Sorry. Looked in the chat room, couldn't we how you open a conversation there.
Okay so when others are in the chat room you have the option to talk privately.
Also, when someone is last seen as - ‘engaged in conversation’ it’s because they’re doing the same as what I’ve just sent you. Reading, responding, or writing a PM.

Aha! But as I said..sort of, the button or whatever TO chat only appears when they are there.
When in live chat yes of course. Because if they’re not there, how can you start a chat with someone who doesn’t exist?
You still can do so via the forums but they will see that when next on.
You still have the option to start PM’s with members who may not be using chat too.

I shall add this. Until I popped in recently chat room was missing, so new to the new chat room.
