We always start with... Fancy a f...?
Ok no we don't. But it is a bit of a dilemma isn't it single or couples, do you start off by being on the the 'straight to it' side of things? or do you you make a few nice compliments before for getting a little more serious? Each couple or single has their own way of seeing things, so if you're too slow they think you're not interested or if it's too fast they think you're desperate, or at least rude. Some might like suggestive remarks others might find that little too in their face.
One thing we do make an effort to do is read the profile!!! I think one or two don't do that that which leads to disappointment, saves embarrassing messages such as "Sorry but we're not meeting single men, it does say so in a profile". But also gives you something to work from like I see you're interested in in x x x or y y y.

We also think it's good idea to make it clear right from the start if you are available or not or even if you're interested or not. Not saying you've got to be be in there like a terrier just that there's no point in spending hours or even days just to say say at the end and that you never actually offering anything the other party wanted.

I would say be careful about asking "what you into?" As if they have it on their profile, it looks like you haven't bothered to read it and just messaging coz your horny. Maybe:Do you say hi. How’s you, what you into?
'Hi, How's you/s had good weekend?'
Would be a basic opener I think.

We are pretty flattered by any message we receive, everyones different and has their own approach, some just work better than others ? saying that.. sometimes I can be in the mood to receive a very blunt message that’s to the point, and some times I like being seduced more mentally.. I guess mood makes a difference!
