What gets me is this
Size 16-18 woman posts full selfie
Gets the comments of “you look amazing babes” you know how it goes for days and days with the endless list.
same woman drops two dress sizes
Gets same but more love comments

So really they’re saying she looked shit really before but lied ? it’s all crap.

This virus has made it worse.. I am overweight myself have been for years but I'm really active.. My work is very physical.. I have a heart condition.. Don't get me wrong I don't play on it I've just got on with it since it happened.. Since the virus the NHS are banging on about obese people with health problems are in danger.. I have been overweight for years but just can't shift it.. This is the reason I don't put many pics of me on here.. Its because I'm embarrassed by how big I am.. I just put pics of Mrs h up.. I have had the piss took out of me most of my life.. In school I was bullied because of my size.. I am getting better now but still don't like mirrors.. W.. :palm: :palm:

Fuck em... I find bigger women more attractive. People who make fun always have their own issues that's why they do it to make themselves feel better. Sad life

also is it not a thing where people dont usually say they gained x amount in pride? i mean i find it polite to conradulate someone when they say they achived something they attemped... i know for sure when i gained some weight in huddersfield my mates congratulated me when i told them i finally have an ass ~~ (note i did not have an ass before 2017 .....) so i do think its kindof how you say it that gets you praise? i mean if i say i gained a stone vs Wooot i finally gained a stone

Recently I have seen alot of people on Twitter getting applauded for losing weight then it suddenly came to me, why do we not get praised for putting on some timber?
It's because the world is full of fat shamers!!!!!!
The world will always be full of haters you get them everywhere even on sites like these , it’s human nature ....
As someone who grew up as “The Fat Kid “ I know first hand what people can be like .... I’ve said this on more than one occasion so it’s not new to some ...
In the last few years I’ve lost a few stone ,wasn’t planned I didn’t diet , I just cut down on what I eat and drink ... I didn’t do it because I thought it might make me more attractive to women , that’s another unfulfilled part of my life .... that’s probably won’t ever change ...
People notice if you lose or gain weight but if for example someone says “blimey you been eating all the pies that’s some Chubb you put on “ I’d hazard a guess you’d probably tell them to “Fuck off” ... now someone say “ you dropped a few pounds looking good “ it massages the ego .....
Haters will be haters just a fact of life ..... Give someone a compliment hopefully you will make their day :tiphat:

But it is an undeniable fact that more of the population are medically overweight and this brings health disadvantages. Most people would not be making themselves healthier by gaining weight, anorexics and malnourished people aside we make ourselves less healthy by gaining weight so if we loose weight and make ourselves healthier we should be praised, conversely if we gain weight and make ourselves unheathier we should not be praised. That is not fat shaming but praising improvements.
We wouldn't praise someone for smoking more and becoming less fit cardio wise, or praising an alcoholic for drinking more.

None of this means that those of us who are overweight are less attractive or worse than others, just that if they improved their health then they become better than they were.

A woman can be more attractive when wearing make up, they aren't ugly before but improvements improve things. A man who grooms himself, trims the beard gets a haircut , a dab of cologne etc is improving his look. Does that mean we are hair shaming him if he let's his beard get scraggly.

G & I have different experiences and takes on this debate.
Here's mine.
I spent my teens influenced by media idols (Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell - many leggy spindly frames). That was just how it was.
These women were purely autonomous "coat-hangers" for globally enticing fashion shows.
Eventually, with the explosion of teen mags and then social media pressure on impressionable youth, combined with increasing awareness of conditions like bulimia & anorexia, this ideal changed.
I was a victim of the 90's "Ideal".
As a result I hid away when my body changed (as it should) after the birth of my children. I hated myself when I was young. I was also grotesquely aware of comments on how I needed to eat more when I was a size 6, yet if I had been a "fatty" they wouldn't say a word.
Now, however, my view is different. I've posted more pics in the last 6 months than in my previous 10 years.
I'm not vain, I'm proud. I finally appreciate what my body is and want to enjoy it before it withers and breaks.
I would never have posted, even in private, the things I post now. When I had the body I now look back at with sadness and remember the shamed I felt.
If someone posts something to say they lost weight, they do so because they are proud of that achievement and want to be recognised for it.
People don't do that unless they want praise.
Likewise, if someone puts on weight they dont broadcast it unless they are in a circle that expects it (bodybuilding?) in which case, go you!
I lost 2 stone last year. I was ill. It cost me. I've gained it all back during 2020 but I'm happy.
People that praise my loss last year (an acknowledgment I craved) are not nazis or fucking "racists" - they react to what they see, and how this information is provided.
Likewise, if they say I look healthy (as many here have done) that's cool too.
At the end of the day, FUCKEM.
Curves rock, as long as we are happy and healthy XxRy
