Sure has been...one lady in particular took me ages. Trying on chat, leaving messages...eventually I think she took pity on me and since then its been great. It takes time and effort but then its worth it, building the 'friendship'.
Their are people here very confident been in the scene for a while and know how to approach...me newbie learning. Hopefully easier after meeting some of you on Friday

Do you know, this is what this site is ALL about... Making friends, being social and seeing where it leads.Sure has been...one lady in particular took me ages. The fact you are there on the weekend will be a huge ice-breaker for you and you will meet a lot of the friendly people who you've been speaking with, and get to meet a lot of people who you've not spoken with yet.

I'll literally talk to anyone.. if i see someone i like, i pull no punches... in letting them know.
Im quite direct. Whats going to happen? No thankyou never killed anyone..
If the boots on the other foot and they approach me.. this is when i get all erm erm... "i dont know what to say" and usually run a mile...

Although we are quite a laid back & easy going couple we find it hard to just go up to people and start chatting, think we lack confidence.
Lots of people do find it hard to start with, people that are otherwise confident in other areas of their lives and even those who have been to lots of clubs/events. The thing to remember is that the vast majority of people feel the same, we see it every weekend without fail! We often try and introduce new members to others to help things along. There isn't really any magic formula other than to realise that pretty much everyone has been or is nervous
