When it comes to showing someone you’re interested, do you go all out or drop subtle hints?
Do you drop that first message or do the nerves get the better of you?

If I speak for myself, I tend to go for subtle ? yes yes I know you’re all thinking bullshit but it’s true. His nibs will always know if I have an eye on someone just by the little things that he picks up on and he’ll drop a little question in about that person just to let me know that he sussed me out ? he doesn’t miss a trick ? when it comes to messaging I kind of wait, maybe the snobbery in me is thinking, they’ll message if they’re interested.. It hasn’t worked often ? so maybe I should just get in there ?

I think the thing is that the "woe is me" attitude isn't shyness, it's usually those who think that they're entitled to sex. XD

I've met some genuinely shy blokes and it can be kind of sexy!

I tend to give people the wrong impression because I'll flirt with everyone, but I'm really quite shy when I fancy someone. XD

Some days I can be shy to the point you would'nt know I was in the room. Other days you would wish I wasn't in the room. Some people I find it hard to chat with then, with others it's like I have known them all my life. Definitely helps being on a website that is as friendly as this one as the ice is already broken.

Im the least subtle person you,ll probably meet ❤️ ,its in my nature to be forward , so im not averse to telling someone

When I was more active on the scene, I was of course more upfront in showing interest and…

No.

I can’t do it. I mean, sure, like anyone else, I occasionally leave stuff out but I at least try not to bullshit just forthe sake of it.

So, no, I was never upfront about it, I was never even subtle. Picture ‘non existent’. I never quite got over the whole outside-the-scene attitude of “women get so many approaches that the last thing they want is an approach from one more single fella that they’re not interested in.”

I kind of worked on a daft attitude of ‘unless the approach is actively welcomed, it’s positively offensive‘. I’d far rather have left an evening with someone thinking

I had a lovely evening but I wish he’d tried to fuck me

rather than

I had a lovely evening until he tried to fuck me

Notable exception: at a club or spa when the rules changed and things were looser.

But when I used to go to socials or even a social that develops into more…? No. Was just never my style.

(Why, yes, I have been single and celibate for years, why do you ask?)

Another notable exception: 1 to 1 chats that develop organically into something more…
