I can see the appeal to build up that sort of friendship, especially if it's between couples. I'm not sure a single person and a couple would work that well.Jealousy may come into it.
I personally wouldn't do it,because I think feelings, and boundaries may become blurred, as time goes by.And that's not something I want x

Depends if exclusivity is between a group of people who won't play outside of that group. If it's just a couple then it's not swinging.
