Bears find you. That is why you should always have a stupid person with you when you are in the woods. Works well for the zombie apocalypse , too.

Just curious, is being eaten by a bear even a thing in England? Do you have wild bears roaming the woods?
It is a thing here in the US. We lose a few hikers and campers every year to bears.
They tell you to wear a bell and carry pepper spray. And learn to recognize grizzly bear poop from other , non dangerous bears so you know if a grizzly is in the area.. Grizzly bear poop has bells in it and smells like pepper spray.

There are no bears in the UK and only a few wild ones in Europe as a whole. Our only major predator used to be the wolf but we domesticated the lot of em and killed the rest.
