Breaking Your Rules

Oh, so, so many, in general, not necessarily in this scene. Here are three.

1. AGE - Never anyone who wasn’t alive the first time I voted. Yeah, that one went the way of all things some years back.

2. WORK - Never anyone I work with. Until the right person, in the right circumstances, came alone. (One sub-rule I never broke - never with anyone who worked for me.)

3. STATUS - Never anyone whose partner didn’t know. That went when I realised that’s her decision, not mine.

Lots of rules, mostly broken them.

Biggest was fucking wives. Not my issue as they were the ones having an affair. 2 different sets of husbands found out and the latter involved the police as I had to report him for harassment.

New rule, never broken.....dont give out the real mobile and just use the fun phone.

I have very few rules that after plenty of time swinging I had to review the old ones. But rather than call them rules they are more for guidance, and my own safety:
1) Alcohol: If she has an off-in-the-distance look in her eye, pass her water, not cock - no guy wants to hear "what happened? I don't remember" the next morning.
2) Contact details: Play number only = no real/work number, no Facebook (yes, there are some people that don;t want to meet, but want to be on your facebook. Why??)
3) Consideration: If they can't treat you the way they want to be treated, back away.

End of the day, we all bleed red, and our farts don't smell of rainbows

Empathy is an ability to understand and share feelings of another...
Sounds like a mimic to me... So much for being an individual snowflake...
I can't empathise but I do sympathise with humour

Couldn’t agree more; there’s a line from The Philadelphia Story that’s always stuck with me. After the lead female character asks why a fella didn’t make a play for her, he says “But you also were a little the worse - or the better - for wine, and there are rules about that.”
