The Mental Health thread is a reminder that the online world can at times be really helpful but equally it can at times be unfriendly.

Cyberbullying, including Cyber Stalking and Cyber Harassment are a real and growing problem and whilst it mainly affects children and teenagers, adults can also become victims.
Although not complete definitions, Cyber Stalking is the act of repeatedly sending messages that include threats of harm, intimidation or other activities that make a person afraid for their safety. Cyber Harassment is the act of sending offensive, insulting or abusive message, nasty or humiliating comments on photo's posts or chat rooms etc or continuing to comment or message other people knowing that they have no interest in you. The law on these offences is vague but in some cases an offence can result in a custodial sentence.

At Social Swinging we try to provide a safe and friendly site so that all our members feel they are able to join in the fun and banter. We ban any fake accounts as soon as possible but cyberbullying can be more difficult to identify. The staff do read all posts and comments but obviously we cannot see your PM's. If we do see signs of bullying in threads or photo comments then we will intervene but we need you to contact a staff member if you recieve a message that you think is either bullying or harassment then it is important that you inform a staff member immediately. Even if you think you can deal with the situation others may not, leaving them afraid to join in the site threads or even making them consider or actually leave the site, neither outcome is acceptable.

So if you believe you or any other member are being bullied don't leave it thinking someone else will sort things out, report it.
