With everything online these days it is no wonder shops on the high street are struggling to keep up, I buy all my clothes online now as i have found a few good online stores that cater for my size and actually do fit me, a lot of shops just don't either have the correct size or say it's a size 18 and it actually isn't. Plus i hate shopping with a passion however we could never buy food online i like to choose what food we get and know it is in date by a few days and we are getting the nice cuts of meat etc and not the manky stuff. So I think it would be sad if everything is done online only. We buy vape gear online too as it is cheaper than the vape shops.

I buy everything from the shops, we have a local market for all our fresh fruit, veg and meat, I would rather try on clothing than buy blind. It's all about getting out and meeting people though, as I said before what will happen to people, they will never talk. (y)

Maybe the future is fewer but more diverse shops or more department stores. Amazon on the high street maybe.
Whatever happens people will still want to go shopping, like @Pearls says, some of us want to see what we are buying and not rely on a web image.

I'm not sure the high street will die, as they must be plenty of people like me out there that likes to physically inspect what they are going to buy, as well as enjoying markets and funky shops.

Note I said funky not trendy
