I doubt I’d buy much. Best advice ever I saw on the subject was from a lottery winner in the US. Said the advice he’d got - and followed - was stick most of it into high interest stuff so you get a very decent income, and then other than immediately portable stuff… Rent. Everything: homes (multiple), cars, everything…
As soon as you’re fed up of something, house, car, top of the range home entertainment system… just upgrade for a new one.
He said he never lives anywhere more than a year, changes the US state in which he lives every year or so, and plans to have lived in every US state by the time he’s done. Rents fully furnished hotel villas around the world for a month at a time when he wants a holiday.
I can think of worse ways to spend it...
