I get hung up on B&W photo's, i love colour, and i tend to bring up the colour saturation on most shots i edit, but then you get the odd one that just screams to be converted to a black and white image. I love the contrast on greyscale, but i really struggle at times getting the image balanced correctly. Below is a shot i adore in colour, but i recently did a B&W conversion on it and i can't decide which i like better, i love the face of the model in colour, but i love the contrast of the whole photo in B&W. The point of focus has changed on the B&W one too, the face in the colour photo, the tattoo in the B&WView attachment 11938
I would i prefer the black and white one of these two, both are very good but the detail of her tattoo is much clearer

Difficult but I'd go for the colour but only because her head is slight more uplifted the eyes look sharper and she has her lip parted in a slighty better pose.

B&W for me, always.. I find it far more sexier and alluring.
Yes you can see more in the colour, but that's what attracts me with B&W - you have to think and imagine a little. ;)

Lol, I should follow my own advice - read before posting, too many cokes, too few beers last night

It was meant to say it gives the appearance that her head is ........

I don't very often do portrait photography my preference is for landscape where colour is often the reason for the taking the shot or where the detail would be lost in b&w - for example an early morning shot over water with a fine mist rising - looks good in colour but the mist looses it's definition when converted. However in winter b&w is often better, summer sometimes infrared is what makes the difference between a good and a great picture. In other words the choice of b&w, IR or colour depends what impact you are trying to potray, stark/crisp, soft, emotional etc.

But of your images above I have to go for the colour one.

Anyway Mr @zebo you've hijacked the bloody thread again, sod off.:D

You just want her lips darker in the B&W shot :)
