And that's me caught up 
For me, I don't get offended by winks (and don't understand how some do). It's like a "hey there" across a busy pub, you either acknowledge it or ignore it.
As I know all too well how much ladies inboxes get bombarded, me throwing in an intro email runs the risk of ending up under a pile of other emails by the time said lady or couple get to reading. And then there's the subject of who wants to be contacted by single males.
I'm more inclined to email if the recipient doesn't mind winks, less inclined if they do, and won't if they don't want contact from or are not seeking single males. Helps me focus on realistic possibilities
