It does seem weird that England doesn't celebrate this founding fathers type person with a holiday, yet us yanks celebrate the day we declared independence from mother England and also the birthdays of a few presidents and noted black men and even a day for turkey consumption and football (American style) any way HAPPY ST GEORGES DAY may no dragons cast a shadow on your parade today

St Patrick's day is celebrated more, although no public holiday. It does baffle me!
st patricks day is a holiday in ireland hun and it marks the feast of st patrick which is also the day he was believed to have died if i get the chance then i do get back to my roots asap x

I have the odd mix of welsh and scotch great grandparents on one side of family and Irish and Scotch on the other side...have a great recipe for shortbread and another for Irish stew
my heritage is county meath and probably where my love of baking comes from
