Was up the crack of dawn to take my son to Uni for the first time - it was an emotional farewell :(
HArd time... some times they come home after though .. back and forth .. but things change and we are only their guardians. It just seams like we will always have them to love forever when they are young .bit that is not the way it is xxx

Yes it is.. very. And it takes time for both parties. There is an emptiness that's hard to fill . You are not alone .xx

Yep we are all supporting each other through it, I'm happy with the emotion it's perfectly natural and healthy. I was however a little surprised how emotionally charged a simple act of putting his glass away in the cupboard after drying on the dish drainer overnight, was this morning - and typing this reply is as I remember the incident.

Yes I understand .. it is the detail of the moment that freezes in time and some how sums up exactly what is so hard to process into words. Usually the first weekend back home acts as a catalyst for everyone to even out their emotions. He's missing you your missing him .. but actually all is ok and the stability of your love is a constant. Xxx

For sure this is true....although I don't find describing what is going on in words difficult. It is a key transition for the whole family, made more acute as he is an only child and the only grandson / child for my mum & dad x
