I used to have gothy type stuff - not allowed now - replaced with flowers.
I used to have a bookcase with books - not allowed now - replaced with photos.
I used to have random geek/video game knick knacks - not allowed now - replaced with candles.
I used to have a garage, I turned into a mancave and parked car on the drive - not allowed now - replaced slowly with the washer, dryer, freezer and storage crap.
I used to have a sporty hatchback car - not allowed now - replaced by a shitty old zafira.
I used to have a life - not allowed now - replaced with a partner and kids.

I have to disagree.
I would want all of my old stuff and my family
. It would be nice to be able to add some of my personality to the house's modern blandness. Unfortunately Kaz likes the bland minimalist look. I prefer unique and quirky

Im tripping up over the bloody things..
Every time we go anywhere I bring home a souvenir. Even if it's a little toy I won in the 2p arcades. It's all memories for me. They used to go on a shelf in the bedroom. They now reside under the bed.
I still collect the tat though, but I just throw it straight under the bed when I get home.
Just wait until it comes time to hide the Xmas pressies, kaz is gonna get a shock when she goes under that bed
