Morals In Swinging

Reading a couple of recents posts made me think of morals.
Do people know what a moral is unless they fell over one or googled it?

I'll be honest and say I'm certainly not a saint but I do have morals and I do try to stick to them but it doesn't always work that way.

So, be honest, do you believe morals are important or just something to use when it's convenient and how do they fit into swinging and do you actually, as they say, practice what you preach?

It's not always easy and we know from experience that swinging and morals, such as intergity don't always mix. Are we all saints, somehow I doubt that. I know I'm not, that green eyed monster will sometimes rear it's ugly head but at least I can admit it happens.

I do stick to my morals. Unfortunately, in my reasonably short time in this lifestyle I've met and chatted to several who really don't seem to have many at all.
They are important, if you wish to be treated with respect, make connections, friends then you need morals and stick to them, otherwise you're nothing more than someone who gets found out very quickly when people begin to see you for who you really are and then.... You're out.

Everyone has a different idea of what is and isn't moral.
I have my own moral code and it's important to me.
Easy examples are that I would never take advantage of a woman that is either drunk or vulnerable. I believe integrity, honesty and truthfulness are paramount. Don't lie just to get your own way. Don't "cheat" if involved in a threesome (ie: going behind the other guys back if the other participants are a couple). Just common decency really that shouldn't be abandoned for the sake of having sex

Wow as a newbie there is a lot to learn about swinging but on the whole morals are there for a reason and to stick to them is right Xxxx

I know right from wrong. I have morals. Do i forget them from time to time? .....with the year ive just had.....yes occaisionally. Do i make a habit of it...no. But i am here to have some fun...that is afterall one of the reasons we are all here.
I always try to treat people how they would wanna be treated...that could be a good thing or a bad thing lol depending on the person.
But yeah...morals yes i have them. I was brought up properly. Xxx

A member said this to me as one of their morals they stick to. Good moral to hold and I agree with. Ironically, they were extremely ignorant and refused to reply for what was a stupid reason and totally blanked myself and another member despite arrangements that were made. But tried to get in touch afterwards when it was all far too late. I refused to answer that person as that is exactly what they had done.

Hard to call this one because society by and large calls what we do here IMMORAL. So my thoughts are what is a swinger version of morality? I guess all those ideals based on honesty. Imorral would be swinging while married and saying you're single or that he/she knows and it ok about it. Saying you're a couple when you actually aren't and I guess worse of all swinging for any sort of bad motivation such as in order to get off on abuse or with a viewpoint such as "I paid to come in so I expect sex"...

Like Therapon I can’t call myself a saint, I’ve made mistakes which some may call immoral in the past that I am not proud off.
I wanted to improve as a human being so learned from them.
But alas I am a deeply flawed human being, but having said that what is perfection are my flaws just not who I am.

For me the most important moral code I have is to be at least honest, when I started to be more honest with myself things improved.

Anyway feel I’m rambling and perhaps missing the context of why this thread started... I could tell some stories of what I have seen in the last year that I actively got involved in swinging sites but feel it’s not the place. I honestly found SS to be the nicest place that I wish I found sooner.

The context was a reference elsewhere to Sleeping Beauty. The story contains several morals which made me think of morals with swinging. I was not thinking of the morality of swinging itself but the morality of what some people do within swinging itself. For example those who join sites only because they are pic collectors or pretend to be something they aren't, is that moral?

I realise you didn’t mean the morality of swinging. The picture collecting part is questionable, but I suppose we are offering up our images and that trust can be abused and in my opinion at least is immoral.
Still I often question myself as to why I’m still here.. Is it immoral as a married man to even log into this site, am I immoral by doing that?
I don’t think so, but maybe my opinion of me is not how others see it.

My morals are in a much better place now than say 20 years ago.
Im now in a place where I will almost always 'do whats right'. Ive missed out on many wonderful opportunities in life (female related) because I knew it wasnt right eg the lady wasnt really available, or drink may impair her decision. I could have taken an opportunity, im sure it would have been great, but then i would have had to live with it for the rest of my life. Additionally, these ladies will have generally been friends, people i respected, so taking advantage would have been out of order.
I am a huge huge believer in Karma, so consider things like honesty, unselfishness, respect as very important qualities.
I see others who 'get' things that i wont, but would rather be without and live with a clear conscious that I do the right thing.
I have had enough good things in my life to accept i wont/cant have everything, and im ok with that.

Morals for us, are important, but we agree with what so mary have said, in swinging, Morals do seem to take a nose dive. We as, a couple, have always maintained that honesty and morals are paramount for a trust to be built up, and then a relationship be developed, sadly at least as, we've learned, it rarely happens as we would like it to.
And sadly, that's then when friendships are often lost, and the trust is lost forever.
We personally are happy with the right person/s as long as they tell us Everything up front, that gives us the choice to accept things or not, whatever the morals or circumstances are. We also agree, we are not whiter than white, but we do stick to our beliefs, and try to encourage a moral trust where practical, though in honesty, it's, a lot easier said than done in the world of swinging.
