Not something everyone wants to talk about but it’s something close to my heart at the moment ...
The statistics show that one man dies every 45 minutes from this ....
You may have seen these little badges worn by many Football Managers and many other sports people ..

The point of this is aimed at the men here and I guess those with wives and partners who may notice the little changes ...
I know we don’t all like to talk about what’s going on down there ....
There is plenty of information about its symptoms on the website .... and if you feel inclined you can donate ...
The sobering thought is in the time it’s taken me to post this one man will have died due to Prostate Cancer ...

J never goes to the docs but had a scare recently and was checked for testicular cancer. I’m stunned that men don’t receive the same well-man checkups that women do at a certain age.. and I felt the gp should have given him a quick check on other aspects of his health as he is in the docs surgery so infrequently.. He was all clear so all okay x

I think men are supposed to go for the finger up the bottom and general MOT when they turn 50. I suspect that a lot of men just don't do it.
I have no idea if we get sent reminders or not though. I guess I'll find out in 14 years

This is very close to my heart too.
3 friends of mine have had prostate cancer. 2 of them are no longer with us (1 died at the no age of 42 years old, leaving behind his kids who were in junior school).
My other good friend who I usually work with everyday has had his cancer removed in November last year and is still healing from the Op at home. He may have to have Radiotherapy to mop up any left over Cancer (based on blood tests).

The awareness of Prostate Cancer is quite poor amongst men. Remember to get a health MOT at 50yrs chaps.

Great post @MP386
I think we are slowly getting there, I work in a very male dominated industry and was a little appalled at many runs of pink equipment in aid of women’s breast cancer.
Now don’t get me wrong, I just felt that such a male dominated macho industry that perhaps we should be promoting men’s health when I raised the subject with the suppliers and on the forums I was met with much sarcasm and negativity.

Also surprisingly these runs of pink equipment were big sellers as macho men secretly like pink and of course boobs....

As soon as you bought Male health into it suddenly the items would be of less interest, less desirable.

I bought this up with many guys I work with asking if they would buy kit that was in aid of men’s health all said no, but all said yes to women’s health.

Anyway, it’s close to me as one of my good friends and long term colleagues has just been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

I work in the Building Industry and yes I agree with everything you said ... it’s not something we talk about but should not only this but other types aswell ...

I've just read an article and it states that eating a cooked tomato helps lower the chances of prostate than eating an uncooked one

God knows, enough people have been in close proximity to my backside in my life, I don't suppose another one makes much difference
