I've always hated 'A friend in need, is a friend indeed'. It just doesn't explain itself properly. It should be more like; 'a friend when you're in need of help or support, is a friend indeed' - but, oh no, that doesn't rhyme.

I hate "cheap at half the price" when buying something that's already, well, cheap. It should be "cheap at twice the price" maybe. Dunno.
