This is true. We were taught this in history in school. And the English wonder why we (as a nation) hated their blood so much.

Of course. You have to understand, it’s deep rooted. The English raped and pillaged our lands. Same as Scotland and Ireland. But to enforce people to not speak their native tongue, was brutal and pushed Welsh to the brink of becoming a dead language.
This is also why English holiday homes here, were attacked during the 70s/80s/90s. X

I'd like to add that until around the same time children have were left handed commonly hand that arm tied behind their back to course them to write right handed, and the was a belief that pain actually helped people learn (hence the term "beaten in to you"). Education was generally brutal and based on no empirical evidence at the time.
Finally also of note similar techniques were used right across England towards children that speech was heavily dialected.
.......and the English folk of 2018 still bear the hatred toward them (in some degree) from other nations for these 'deep rooted' atrocities, some of which us modern English folk may in fact know very little about.
I mean most of the people involved back then are probably all dead by now. It's time to move on and spread the love. Look times have changed now and we only invade Middle Eastern countries for a drop of oil now and again, and the Welsh join us. #somethingsneverchange

Why do you think Ireland and Scotland hate the English so much too? Same things had been done there.
I can’t recall the name of the group at the time, am sure it was Plaid Cymru but I may well be wrong - as a child I recall them burning holiday homes, smashing up cars and so forth.
If the English wanted to rub salt into the wounds, it would be from the upper and middle class dimwits who bought land here and holiday homes here, so they could spend six weeks here (or less) once a year.

Thankfully those days are long gone.
As for going to war in the Middle East. It’s always only ever been about black gold. Will always will be.
Same as Wales. Black gold. Coal. Once the English had taken it all, they shut the mines and buggered off. Leaving communities and households in the lurch.
