Given the ebb and flow of chat is natural in chat rooms, some private chat a while probably sparked by a chance remark on a status or forum post and that slowly grinds to a stop , probably no real reason other than run out of interest or patience, others prefer the open banter of the forums and others just lurk
No one way is right or wrong just human nature !

For us we haven’t had the connection on other sites like we have here, which made me not want to meet anyone. Having the connection from building a foundation has led us to having sent an informal message. Our pm’s are somewhat different to each recipient as we find a connection with person in its own way- I think that for us I just needed to take the proverbial bull by the horns and ask to meet.
I prefer to chat here and then meet; a club is so indirect.
We get different things from both sides. Either way our swinging isn’t impeded but we find club harder to swing than here ;) we like here :)

Great to see that SS is working for you. Also it's refreshing to get various viewpoints, not everyone likes clubs.

Such a good post and very informative reading the discussion.

As mentioned in some of the posts, the social side can be good for some, and has been really good for me as a newbie.
Since meeting people at the bday bash at Xtasia I have felt much more comfortable and happy. It is important to meet people in person and get a good feel of the vibes. The socials help with this too.

I have no say or experience in the aspect of things being too socially comfortable, but it is good to read about this topic.

This thread has also helped me to realise that I can & should be more forward if I feel like it, as people have said there is nothing to lose as rejection is no biggie either. (Am still learning though:lol:)
I will follow through with that more this year, but I can get shy and also overly polite, as some things are quite new to me, but slowly confidence may prevail:whistle:

You will very likely find your confidence improving significantly the more you meet people, go to events, clubs etc. :) x

I do not "flee"; I am an Englishman, I tactically and tactfully retreat; leaving the key to the handcuffs in an easily accessible location........
Oh now that is impressive old chap! Leaving the keys & everything.
Think you just broke the site with that! LOL :D :D ;)

We now find the socialising to be as important as the actual swinging now, completely different to when we first started out, just being able to sit and have a chat about the lifestyle with like minded people is such a joy, its one of the reasons we love going to clubs, no 2 nights are ever the same and even if we only end up playing with ourselves we still have a great night, and have met some truly wonderful people from all types of backgrounds. It's even made my hubby an incredibly sociable person again!
