This is the only place I comment on anything as everywhere else I get taken the piss out of for the most innocent things... Oh I did just say innocent :rofl:

I have a Facebook account to keep in touch with friends nationwide/internationally, it’s lovely to see/hear their news. ****** and iMessenger have been a fantastic way to keep in touch with our son at uni. Really don’t get Instagram and ***** and have only used to try and understand how I need to parentally control it with my teenager.. It’s a minefield out there! And obviously use this site frequently  xx

I have to have FB so that I know what my kids are up to
I also use Twitter, but mainly follow football and politics accounts. I have also got a naughty Twitter account, but very rarely use it.

@Pearls Yes indeed. I'm finding so much of the social media world has now become a playground for another generation, not a place for us. Some of it like T####r has become unaoroachable due to the fact they almost now have a language of their own, if you don't already know the language you'e stuffed!

Shut down my old and very long standing FB account last year. Best decision I ever made RE online.
The rest as mentioned is work only. People get too wrapped up in living a life, reading about their next door neighbours cat, and what the dog ate for supper from Bob down the road.
Bollox to that.

FB and ****** here - SS now!
Think it depends on the people you interact with regularly. I deal with lots of university students at the moment in one of my jobs and it's really useful for group messages, getting interest in activities and passage of information.
I tend to remove the "look at me" posters

The text message started that off. It created a generation of illiterates and ignorance to grammar. And now you're blasted for pointing it out.

I've been accused of not being tolerant toward it before. Why should I? They are the ones destroying our language.

We both have FB accounts but its just for family use. We also have ****** so we can speak to our boys who live abroad. We both have twitter accounts for work only and thats it. Due to work we keep a very low profile on social media
