A shout out to the members. What do you do on Social Swinging? How do you use the site? PM'ing, chat rooms, forums?
Personally I'd love to see more people in the forums (cos I'm a tart ).
Members this is our site, we make it what it is. Sure the owners pay for it, hell we pay for it too, but without us there is no site.

We need ideas to get more people in the forums chatting. Without this the site will go stale.
So saying that do we have any suggestions on how to do this? Are we just content 'changing letters'? The more people we drag in here, surely the more chance we have of potential meets? Is something putting you off?

It would be interesting to know the actual number of "active" members compared to the number of unique posters on the forums because it does seem that beyond the "hardcore" of usual forum contributors we don't see a lot of "fresh meat"

I've used chat lots n lot
I've used pms lots
I've never used the video/cam facilities

however things have changed recently for me , both personally and onsite

I have intentionally not been as active on site as I'm finding there's lots of ranting moaning and negativity

There was a time here the forums were jumping and many many many many people were active Friday nights were awesome

Now all I see is negative ranting

This in itself is a turn off

Well, I've used chat very occasionally. Have rarely had the inclination, to be honest, and I should address that.

I've used pms once in a blue moon. And rarely for anything other than something specifically site related.

I love this site: its fun, the members are friendly, the staffing team are great, approachable and supportive. Easily all the potential and ingredients to be the best swinging site out there. Unfortunately, there appears to be a "limp" that I think a number of members have observed, hence where the negativity is coming from.

On the one hand, it is a swinging site: the aim is to swing. Yes all the familiar decorum and etiquette are still present and are encouraged to be observed ("don't assume to get insta-shag just cause its a swing site",...) and all that. Banter, chat, laughs, humour... all ingredients. However it is possible the "swinging" aspect may appear to be lagging behind the "social" aspect? (Just a personal perspective, I could be massively wrong).

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying no one is meeting, and can't use my experiences as a yard stick. And I must emphasise a strong point: no one has any right to a meet (any meet!), but as a guy I do have to say, it appears a lot of guys have to "wait" on the wings till a prospective invite appears - there's only so much bait we can put out.

Now I don't know how it works for single girls, and I have no idea what its like for other couples, but ultimately it "feels" as if folk have a bit more time for the online social aspect, and little time for anything else offline. Hence some of the negativity that I think a number of members (having bottled for a while) are starting to comment.

But maybe I'm just wrong on all points. I'm hapy to be corrected.

1) I make time to get on the forums (and have a catch up when I've been "away", ie, snowed under with work for days on end).
2) I can accomodate. Or travel for the right invite.
3) I'm happy to make the first move and email members
4) I try to do my research on profiles that catch my interest: if I don't see "Gent" sought, I don't contact. Ever.
5) I try to make the socials so long as I don't have any prior arrangements (example, missed Xtasia as was at a friend's birthday)
6) When interacting (online and in person) I try to be engaging and with a little luck, funny.
7) I try to make any flaws in myself less apparent: so I'm an ugly sod (not much can do about that) but I try
8) Oh yeah, I try to make an effort to be presentable
9) When in the presense of couples, I acknowledge both halves: Just cause I want to shag the missus is no excuse to forget my manners.
10) I make a point of note that ladies are "not just a hole". Some guys I;ve known over the years forget that, and that's shocking.

I may be missing some of the more obvious, but that up there is just off the top of my head - if anything else I can do to present myself in a better light, I am happy to take pointers.

but in all seriousness, I don't think being a perfectly reasonable gent (best foot forward) is that hard. I however worry if that's what ladies (iun general terms of swinging) do want as I sometimes is usually far from enough.

As one lady said "You'd make the perfect guy I bring home to meet my mother, but for me you just haven't got the raaaghr factor", to which I replied "Oh well, is your mother still available then?"

As is usually the way @Sammy has summed it up as I would have done!!
We agree the negativity is a turn off and some comments being posted read as put downs.... Which alters the "tone" massively.
We struggle with childcare etc. but our intention is to be actively social both online and in person. Having arranged childcare months ago and accommodation, for then every man, his dog and the sites "bread & butter" people not to attend the now cancelled Halloween social.... Was a disappointment! X
