The material over the top may have been but the petticoat underneath which made them that big was made out of crinoline x
I never gave a second thought as to what all the stuff underneath was made from, it all looked so dull!

Me I'm a bit of a fan of 1950's styles on the ladies. 1930's styles for men mainly due to how spiffing my granddad looked in old photo's during his RAF days.

I love the 30s 40s and the 50s. I have a 1938 evening tail suit and top hat I went on a tram to a dance at Blackpool tower I got some funny looks. But most people said we know where you are going lol

Good grief. I've done everything....flares, big perms, sharp suits, fishtail parka (pseudo mod), bubble skirts, ra-ra, cheesecloth shirts (possibly my favourite) platforms....it's endless..and horrendous.....
Them Ra-ra skirts always did it for me i must say

I have always gone for the wrong fashion Tried Punk, Skinhead, Glam rock but never really felt it was me.
Finally found the Scooters and it changed my life as i loved the cool clothes. Ditched the scooter for a big boys bike years ago but still like to dress more Mod than rocker these days.
Women dressed up nice from any era do it for me - nothing nicer than a well turned out lady
