Bloody hell, for weeks now on the radio it's being hammered home that Auntie is running a minute by minute account, live event in Wembley Arena - held in July.

When the hell are England going to get over this?
It's 50 years ago. You won the world cup yes. But 50 years ago.. How much more can this get overplayed and rammed home with up your nose, rammed down your throat nostalgia?

Blimey, get over it. England won it. England have not won it since...
The ever droning and now cynical "they think it's all over - it is now"
ugh....
Get a grip dudes. 50 years on and still getting wet patches over winning the cup.

It is this nostalgia that is ruining the national game in England (well one of the things), fans, players and the FA have to move on from last glories as well as ask why has England, the birthplace of football and I country that we are told is obessed with the sport, not won any cup for exactly 50 years that is half a century?

Sometimes in glad I'm more of a rugby and racing man.

Ahhh that's got nothing to do with it. This is because of an advert I heard again on the radio..
It's been 50 years. And people still get wet patches over it.
:D ;)
"They think it's all over, it is now"

Gives me goosebumps .... A proud day to be English ... It will still be remembered in another 50 years cause it might take longer than that to win it again ... :)

I think that piece of comentary is one of the reasons why England's world cup victory is still such a big thing, it is an iconic few sentences and developers with such subtle passion and excitement.

Most likely will... A few years ago it could have been said that England had good hopes, but not now. I don't think...

The commentary is epic. And hugely iconic. (y) (and rightly so)
The world cup 66 win is a hell of an achievement it really was....
The point is though, England - get over it. it was fifty years ago, five decades ago, half a century..
This just makes me cringe, come on...minute by minute relived?

Bump-n-Grind

Of course it shouldn't be forgotten, in fact we should bang on about it more often.
One of the greatest underdog stories, topped off by the story of another underdog scoring a hat trick in the final, of which hasn't been repeated since (it even took the great Zinedine Zidane 2 finals to score 3).
Keeps the great Bobby Moore fresh in our minds.

Minute by minute , can you get that on iPlayer:sneaky:

Nothing wrong with celebrating the 50th anniversary of an incredible moment in English football history, but I know what you mean. I am, as I've stated before, an England fan (footy-wise.. their rugby team can feck right off) but one of the things that hacks me off, no end, is the bloody media circus that surrounds it. From constantly mentioning "30/35/40/50 years of hurt" to the bi-annual "we can do it this time" to each team being "the golden generation" to Rooney's bloody pube haircut. It's soooo bloody boring!
And, just for the record, I tried to warn everyone what a shite manager Hodgson was going to be, but would they listen?? Eh? Eh?

I need a lie down

Indeed.... "30/35/40/50 years of hurt" nailed it. :D
This is the epitome of exactly what I am saying.
Celebrate - yes of course, a huge feat...! Well done and really, it's remarkable.
BUT!
Banging on and on?
Ai ai ai.. :p
