With a pet on your bed? Or is your bed for your sanctuary and pets don't belong in your room?

I sleep with my cat, usually on top of me, or in the winter, she snuggles under the duvet!

We have both had dogs all our lives but this is the first we have allowed to sleep on the bed. I think its cos we both felt sorry for him when we first got him he had been very badly abused and only weighed around a quarter of what he should have done.

We have a shepherd, when she was little (6 weeks old) we laughed at her because she couldn't jump up onto the bed, but now she laughs at us because she thinks it's HER bed now!
Can i just ask who is tending the sheep, whilst this shepherd is dallying on your bed!! :D

My dog, Jasper (a former rescue) doesn't get to come upstairs unless either (a) there's thunder and lightning or fireworks when he climbs the stairs, or (b) it's bath time.

My last dog, Millie, was a rescue and had enormous separation anxiety so that when I brought her home from Battersea dogs home she slept on the floor in my bedroom for a few weeks until one Sunday morning when she decided 4am = play time.

I have three pets.
A springer spaniel who always shares my bed.
A bedspring puppy but she sleeps on the window seat in the bedroom
And Stephen.. he sleeps where I tell him

I owned huskies for over 17years and they were never allowed upstairs or even on the sofa. My last one was put to sleep at the ripe old age of 16 yearly this year.
We have now re homes a 6yr old English springer spaniel and as you say we felt sorry for her and she is allowed on the end of the bed.

We only have fish, Malawian chiclids, we don't let them sleep on the bed... though it's often wet enough :p
