Legalization of drug,

what do you think? is the present system working?

personally I would have them all legalized, from you hardest class A to your mild recreational C's and D's
I don't think the system in place works. if legalized they can be clean controlled substances where the tax on the product can be placed into the struggling N.H.S to help treat them when they eventually end up there.
I have dibbed and dabbed extensively in my youth and still think the most addictive drugs are the legal ones, alcohol and cigarettes.
I could go on like this for a while but would rather hear what you have to say?

No never, I have seen the damage drugs do first hand and trust me its not from hard core ones. I am deadly against all forms and they should never be made legal.

Before this thread continues, I would like to point out that discussing drugs, supplying of them, purchase of them, use of them and any glorification of drugs is completely against site rules and will be removed.
Whilst I am happy to allow the discussion of the subject matter, anything relating to the above - will be dealt with.
Thank you,

but if they are already so readily available from street gangs where the money gained is used to promote further crime, would it not be better that the money collected by the government can then be used for N.H.S.
what has been happening for the past 20 year is clearly not working. its going to happen. should it not be controlled just like prostitution?

Not sure about this at all. Legalisation may help reduce some of the risks by providing purer drugs and might also help reduce the violence associated with the sale of illegal drugs. However my brother died several years ago, the root cause was drug taking.
So even if legislation could reduce the risk of contaminated drugs taking them still has to be a game of russian roulette and a drain on the NHS. Overall Id say no.

read above, they are already being used daily by thousands. the moneys gained are funding more crime. stop the money, less crime.x

may argument is not for drugs being a good thing, they are awful but the system we have in place clearly dose not work.

Has to change as in make it legal? Are you feeling ok?
Are you on drugs?
Ok i have battled with a very close family member with drugs.. he found it difficult to get his hands on drugs had it been legal.. maybe it would have been easier, much easier therefore much easier to culminate in his death.
The NHS battle daily with addicts. If it where legal.. surely they would be battling against more?

I am not on drugs.
if people want to they will,
if taxed, money can be used for rehab programs to help people come off something that is very poorly funded at present. take the money and control away from the dealers and we are one step closer to stopping the problem for good,
the dealers want junkies.
the government want to help them.
dose it not make seance the money is in the hands of the people who want to help?

I believe drug should be illegal, do I do also think we have our drugs policy all wrong in britian. I say this because for me drug use is a public health issue rather than a criminal one.

marjuhana?? I'm sure he was in my class at school... :) drugs should have no place and legalising them is ridiculous.. maybe you should become a politician they seem to get away with hairbrained ideas.....
so is it better to go on the way it is? pushers selling to junkies and using the cash to fund bigger crime, purchase guns and promote prostitution?

Agree a public health issue that is very poorly funded, how do you fund it better? any better options?

right so if they were legalised these addicts would go out and a job and no longer steal or prostitute themselves... nothing would change just the government would get rich and there would still be pushers undercutting the government as they do with most things now....
but at least the choice would be there for them, a cleaner alternative and as i have said so many times now the tax on the product can be used for rehab and re education. but no may you are right lets just keep giving all the money tho the dealer because that has worked so well up until now.
