Well, it done. Its now triggered.
so how do we all feel about the Europeans who are saying they don't feel welcome in Great Britain any more?
anyone else worried we will now face a short fall in the work force of the nation especially in the hospitality sector and (what could be) a dangerous fall in nursing and doctors?

No! As there are millions unemployed and many of my nursing friends who have been unable to get a job in this country, will soon be employed again.
Having said that, our hospitals are running on empty and struggling to meet the demand of operations. Also they can't meet the 18 weeks. So if we really want the NHS to survive, leaving the European union might just help it, rather than run it for the millions of Europeans who come to Britain for the free health service.

recently watched a documentary with the head of the nursing collage. they are thinking there is nowhere near enough nurses to fill the short fall and they will not be able to train to fill the short fall as there is not enough money being pushed into help them. the other option is to recruit for Asia but this will be more expensive that the current recruitment form Europe.

The whole situation is like being flushed down a bit shit pipe. Sure I have made it clear in the past as my feelings on leaving Europe. I still struggle to see any major benefits but I do see alot of unnecessary problems.

I voted to leave. I studied the Economics of European Integration as part of my degree, about 20 years ago. The problems were highlighted then and proven to be right in my opinion.

The mistake that a lot of people make is that people who voted leave are saying 'no' to immigration, when in fact they are just wanting some control over it. In the same way that Greece has suffered by not being able to control its monetary or fiscal policy.

But its not just immigration that will be affected, banks are leaving London for france and car plants are closing. We have only just started procedure's. I am sure the nation we be ok but it just looks to be much more hassle than its worth.

Ah but on the contrary my friend. Is that not what independence is all about? Fighting for what's worth doing and being free to manage your own country with your own laws?
As an avid and strong Indyref believer I thought you of all would have understood these principles.

I disagree. We can agree trade deals much quicker without waiting for the EU's approval.

Very good ya cheeky wee monkey,

I do understand that is what people of Scotland will vote for but the vote to leave Europe was very influenced by immigration and as I believe all borders should be free in Europe including Scotland's if independence was granted along with the vast majority of my country people.
Anyway I am rambling. Point it free borders throughout Europe and stay in Europe or British business will suffer for a good 5-10 year.

Also the quality of the nurse training in some countries are not upto the British standard. And therefore, this brings the standard of care and understanding down. Perhaps this is the reason we have a shortage of British trained nurses? There was a time when people from abroad came to Britain as our training schools were the best in the world.

I agree. I have come across many Doctors that I'm sure must have bought their degrees. I knew more than they did....

But the fav still stands we can't afford to train nurses. This is when we were recruiting the short fall from Europe and now will have to from Asia at a higher expense.

So there's the problem. We need more public spending, not more immigration. Of course, the moneyed folk want cheap nannies and builders, even though (most) do a shit job...
