I think it ironic - if a man were to say such things he would be slapped about as a woman hater or a fat hater.

Funny old world... But as I'm sure the OP will agree no one's perfect :)

I loved that I didn't see a single reply by a guy here..With the potential that I might be the only one in the firing line for saying it..(as blunt as Biba wants it)

Diplomatic or not, your answer doesn't make it one bit easy to digest - friend or otherwise.

Are we making the assumption that someone grew big because of food or because of stress or hormonal (think hypothyroidism which is common in women in their middle ages). So unless she told you she ate too much, think your comment was uncalled for.

I am not a big fan of the comment or debating if it should've been diplomatic. Each one to their own...And at some point, this woman gave herself to you, so doesn't she deserve a bit of respect ?

Sorry this is not for me to push the buttons ...But you say you aren't judgemental but if you go back to your post above...What would the self-reflective Biba call what she said to that lady?

Mmm. And re: the original question...

To say something rude to someone's face - funny or no - that a loved one tells you is insensitive may be one thing. To then repeat and ask people to laugh with you online is hardly diplomatic.

Has the OP perhaps considered writing for The Sun?

Well most clothes are made in China and they are teeny...
I am an extra large in Chinese sizes but xtra small in the UK.
